Why It Matters in BC
Disasters in BC are often fast-moving and unpredictable. The 2021 atmospheric rivers and the 2023 wildfire season demonstrated how rapidly conditions can deteriorate. Well-prepared communities were able to evacuate more efficiently, protect businesses, and reduce response times.

- Run drills and tabletop exercises (e.g., ShakeOut BC)
- Create evacuation route signage and emergency communications plans
